The work towards  body sovereignty

What is body sovereignty?

Body sovereignty is the inherent right each of us holds to our own body — the right to protect it, feel it, connect with it, take up space, and claim ownership of it fully. It burns bright, a rebellion against oppressive and culturally imposed body ideals, and it thrives in the light of autonomous empowerment.

For many of us, this right wasn’t freely given. Our fires were dimmed, sometimes even snuffed out. But the flame can be rekindled.

Body terrorism, the opposite of body sovereignty, is a hideous tower whose primary support beam is the belief that there is hierarchy of bodies. We uphold the system by internalizing this hierarchy and using it to situate our own value and worth in the world

What would it be like to

honor your body?

To reach a place of neutrality and respect, we have to be willing to turn inward — to dive deep into ourselves and make space to connect, to grieve, and to listen.

Body image work takes time, patience, and practice. It asks us to sit with discomfort, to face old stories, and to gently reimagine our relationship with our bodies. Together, we’ll explore how trauma and oppression have shaped the way we experience our bodies — and how we may have, consciously or not, participated in acts of body terrorism toward ourselves and others.

This work isn’t about perfection or performing healing; it’s about reclaiming your body as your own, with compassion, curiosity, and care.
